HOLY TELEVISION

It's been interesting to note the plethora of reality television shows on satellite at the moment. There's Donald Trump's: The Apprentice, the people's music show: American Idol, The Amazing Race and the grand daddy of them all: Survivor. In England, Big Brother is the ultimate reality show; for those people who want to see what happens to a bunch of people when they are stuck in a house with no television or books. A quick mention to Brenda at this point!

However I always wondered what if God was to develop a reality tv show. (Note to all tv producers: Mark Burnett is not God.) For instance, you could have The Amazing Grace where people race around the world, competing to do good deeds for the poor and needy or preaching to the unsaved (being put in gaol results in elimination) - all in a pre-destined time limit. Or what about The Apprentice where people compete in tasks given by Jesus Christ for that ultimate prize; that big mansion in heaven over-looking the river of life. Teams would lose on account if they had saved less souls than the other team.

American Idol would have to change its name for starters - see God's dislike for Idols - so maybe we could have Heavenly Worship where worshippers from around the world would be judged by the Holy Trinity - not Randy Jackson, Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell - God the Father, Jesus Christ and The Holy Spirit with a special mixture of guests such as the golden oldies (Moses and King David) to more contempary muscians (Graham Hendrix and Matt Redman).

Survivor
could be set in New York or London where teams have to survive without sucumbing to temptation from the bright lights and dubious entertainment. In an environment of constant busyness and noise, how would the teams survive? - whilst having to complete tasks against each other. Failure to complete tasks would result in punishment such as removal of bibles, hymnals and literature.

Hmm.... I like the idea of the christian reality shows but I don't think the participants should lose their accounts if they don't save enough souls. That is not a true reflection of God's nature. So, you'd have to change the endings a bit.
